Time-locking makes a vault item openable only during windows you choose. Outside a window, even your own device can't decrypt it.
How it works
When you attach a schedule, the item's key gets a second lock that our server holds. During an open window, the server removes its lock as part of your unlock, and your own key does the rest.
- Outside the window, the item stays sealed, even for you.
- At any time, our server still can't read the item. Its lock controls when, never what.
Our server's clock decides
Changing the clock on your computer does nothing, because windows are checked on our server in the time zone you chose. This also means you need to be online to open a scheduled item.
Countdown
A locked item shows when its next window opens, so there are no surprises.
Limits by plan
Personal can have 3 scheduled items at a time, Family 10, and Business has no limit. Removing a schedule frees the slot.
What it doesn't do
It controls the app, not memory. Once an item is opened in a window, what you saw can be copied like anything else. See Schedule types for the kinds of window you can set.
