How it works
Set up once, in a few minutes
Create your key
Sign in with a code sent to your email, then choose a master password. It never leaves your device. Save the Recovery Kit: it is the only way back if you forget the password.
Bring your things in
Import an Obsidian vault or a folder of Markdown files, add calendars from ICS files or subscription links, and add logins as you go (saving them straight from the browser extension is coming soon).
Use it in your browser
Open Atrium in any modern browser. Your device encrypts before anything is uploaded, and the vault locks itself after 15 minutes idle.
Time-locked access
Some doors should only open at the right time
Attach a schedule to any vault item and it can be opened only inside its window: every weekday from 9 to 5, the first of the month, or not before a date you choose. Our server's clock decides, so changing the time on your computer does nothing.
On Business, a colleague can ask to open a locked item early. The item's owner approves or denies, the approval works once, and the request, the decision and the opening all go into the audit log.

We make money from subscriptions, not from your data. Paying customers are what keep the service running and our incentives lined up with yours: we have nothing to sell except the product.
Security
We tell you what we can see
A copy of our database would give an attacker ciphertext. We publish exactly what our servers can read for each room, and the limits of zero-knowledge encryption.
- Your master password never leaves your device. We keep only a value derived from it that can confirm it is right, never the password.
- Nobody at Atrium can decrypt your data. Our admin tools have no way to decrypt anything.
- We can see some metadata: your email, sizes, timestamps, schedules, event times and calendar feeds you subscribe to.
- No back door means no reset. Lose your password and your Recovery Kit, and the data cannot be recovered.
