Questions
How does the free trial work?
A new account gets 14 days with everything included. We don't ask for a card, and nothing is charged when the trial ends. You choose whether to subscribe.
What happens if I don't subscribe, or my plan ends?
Your account becomes read-only. You can still unlock, open and export everything, including your notes and calendars, but you can't add new things until you subscribe. We don't delete your data because a plan ended. The terms have the details.
How can I pay?
By card or with a PayPal account. Payments are processed by PayPal: card details go straight to PayPal and never reach our servers. Plans renew automatically once a year at your price, charged to your default payment method, and we email you 14 and 3 days before each renewal. Prices are in US dollars; accounts with a Canadian billing address pay in Canadian dollars.
What if a payment fails?
We email you once, and you keep full access for 14 days while you update your payment method. If it still can't be collected, the account becomes read-only until you resume; nothing is deleted.
Is it cheaper to pay monthly?
There is no monthly plan today. Billing is yearly; the monthly figure under each price is only there to make comparison easier.
How do Business seats work?
Business is priced per seat with a minimum of three. The yearly price includes three seats, and you can add seats from your billing page as your team grows. A seat you add is charged right away for the rest of your billing year; a seat you remove stays paid until your renewal, when the change takes effect. More than 100 seats? Talk to us.
Can a Family plan have more people?
Yes. Family includes six people, and you can add more members for a yearly fee each, up to the plan's limit, from your billing page.
What counts as a time-locked item?
Any vault item with a schedule attached. Personal allows 3 at a time, Family 10 and Business has no limit. Removing a schedule frees the slot.
Can you read my data?
No. It is encrypted on your device with keys we never receive. We can see some metadata, such as sizes, timestamps and event times; the security page lists it all.
What if I forget my master password?
Use the Recovery Kit you saved at setup. We can't reset your master password because we never have it. If you lose both the password and the Recovery Kit, your data cannot be recovered, on any plan.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, from your billing page. Your plan keeps working until the end of the year you paid for, and nothing more is charged. To remove your only payment method, cancel first so there's no renewal to pay for.
